    - Copying and Deleting the duplicate records in an excel sheet and Copying the same Deleted records into another sheet Instead of doing this in one macro, I suggest you to do this in 2 stages. Key Generation and then Scan procedure. This keeps functions more resueable in the futrure. 1) you make an extra column by combining the partial key columns. It is better to insert an special separater to make sure you don't end up with the same key like this, he + llo = hello and hell + o = hello. 2) Compare the primary key and start copying the row and delete it. I am only going to provide you with few helper functions. Everything else should be easy for you. The LastRow function will gives you the true last row in your desired range so you can loop each row from top to last row. The Find_inOneColumn functions will tell you if duplicate value is found in the same column or not and has an optional Return parameter you tell you where the duplicate is found. This is not needed if you sorted the rows with your new primary key. This is used for keeping the original records' order. There are other ways to keep the original ordering, but, nah.     - How can I see the stack trace from the .mdmp file? Hi, saarp I have tried the things as you mentioned, in following manner. 1) Download the symbols for windows vista and windows xp sp2. And store them at E:\windows\symbols by installing them. (Here E is not my OS system drive but I have done it in this way as I don't have enough space on system drive) 2)open gui windbg. Store the symbol paths c:\wer\symbols_967;e:\windows\symbols where first one is my application's symbol path and the other one is windows' symbol path. 3) store the image path c:\wer\images_967 which includes all the dlls and exes used in my application. Here all images and symbols of my application having the versions that mapping application's dll and exes have. 4) download the cab file from wer and extract the cab and then extract the minidump.mdmp 5)open the minidump in windbg through open crashdump option.     - Closing desktop opened word wants to close embedded word object I have an Access program that I am using to build Word documents. If while the document is being built (which can be lengthy) I open Word on the desktop and then close it, Word asks me if I want to save the doc that is being built by the program. Of course if I say yes/no then the program gets the rug pulled out form underneath it. I can say cancel and things will go on their merry way but then there is this blank Word sitting there. This is going to confuse the user. I thought that I was creating a separate instance of Word programatically but apparently not. Is there a way to prevent the desktop Word from bothering the embedded object.     - Creating my own object in VBA I've searched the forums, but I haven't found an answer or example in VBA. I'm trying to create an object, so I can wrote the program easily. In my object, there are variables, subs, functions and another objects as well. My problem is how to define the functions and subs.     - .mdmp files not being created I used ForceQueue for debugging purposes only, and the fact that the dialogs didn't appear was acceptable in that scenario. If you register and map your app with the Winqual servers, then the servers will at least occasionally request minidump information from your app, and then you'll be able to download the minidumps from Winqual. Another option is to shut off the Internet connection when the crash occurs. The dialogs will then be displayed, but when WER finds out it cannot send stuff to the servers, it will archive the crash data (including minidumps) so that they can be re-sent at some later point in time. A variation of this idea is to set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\CorporateWERServer to the name of some machine in your network. When a crash occurs, WER will assume that a "Corporate Error Reporting" server is running on that box, and will try to talk to port 1273. If there's no answer, then WER will probably create the minidump and keep it around for later. Of course, you could also set up a real Corporate Error Reporting server which always requests the minidump information from the client. I haven't tried this myself yet, though.     - Implementing time synchronization through VBA I am developing a small application that needs to include an audit trail function, with date and time stamping. To ensure that the time stamp is valid, I would like to either (1) force the local machine to synchronize with an external, trusted site (such as time-a.nist.gov), or (2) go and grab the time directly from an external, trusted site. How on earth can I do this with VBA Searching on the Internet has shown up quite a few solutions that use C++ or C#, but that doesn��t help me much.     - Directss Install That problem is specifing to VBA. You must be using Office. I think i know what the problem is but i dont know the solution. The controls that you are using are not "digitally" signed and Office cannot verify its integrity. But i googled it and seems like there are many others that have the same problem.     - browsing OWC via client side problem I have an issue when browsing Microsoft Business Scorecard Manager 2005 from another laptop, the PivotChart built with Microsoft Office Web Component version 12 can not connect to the Data Source, that is OLAP Cube built with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Service. There is a warning sign in the OWC frame showing the error description: Failed to get data. If available, errors returned from the provider are listed below. - An error was encountered in the transport layer. - The peer prematurely closed the connection I already tried some attempts, but they did not help: The IE in client side already set : Enable Access Data Sources across domains in Security Settings The connection string from OWC to Data Source is: Provider=MSOLAP.3; Integrated Security=SSPI; Persist Security Info=True; Initial Catalog-KPI3_5;Data Source-mrgreen I tried to connect OWC from client to data source manually with the same connection string, but it could not see the cube. A role with appropriate permissions is created for the cube From the client side, I logged in with the Administrator user name which is used the same to create the data warehouse, build cube and build the scorecard On Server Side, in SQL Native Client Configuration, the TCP/IP is set Enabled Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services 9.0 OLE DB Provider is already installed for the client side The address of the server side is added as Trusted side In the server side, in Registry, below HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ MSOLAP \ CLSID has the same value with HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ MSOLAP.3 \ CLSID Because Microsoft Business Scorecard Manager 2005 I use now is the 180 day trial, I am wondering if it is the reason causes the problem.     - iexplore.exe - Application Error (EVERY TIME I CLOSE IE7) :( I just installed Norton 360. I'm running on IE6. The same/similiar error message occurs. I checked the event viewer logs and provides the following explanation: The program could not load a driver because the program user doesn't have sufficient privileges to access the driver or because the drive is missing or corupt. To correct the problem, the article goes on to suggest these solutions: Ensure that the program user has sufficient privileges to access the directory in which the driver is installed. Reinstall the program to restore the driver to the correct location. Based on this information, I can guess what occured and a possible solution. The installation of Norton 360 caused a file or registry entry to become changed, deleted or corrupted. The other possible cause could be a bug/incompatability in the software.     - Variable no longer retaining value when using Word 2003 I'm having a problem with a Macro that is a Word Template. Under Office 2000 this macro works when users started getting Word 2003 things started to break. Here is what is happening. The main Word Template essentially contains a menu which branches off to several other templates depending on which menu option you choose. Here is some sample code.     - Can I disable keys in Excel while a cell is selected? well, that one seemed to work, but try disabling F3 for example (paste name). It disables it except for when in the middle of entering text and at that point the key works and it shouldn't. Tag: Sharepoint 2007 help
