Setting values between the page and masterpage (button click event) in MOSS 2007 hi all
according our requirements , i put some of the lable in the sharepoint site(put some asp.net server controls label in master page through sharepoint Desiner) .
So now i want to set some text in the lable while i click some buttons in the page. the button is placed in basic page and the lable is in master page. how it possible Please its very very urgent for me. and give the elobrate procedure to do this. thanks in advance... Must add NETWORK SERVICE as farm admin? hi
I have a wss3 farm setup with a web application on localhost:96.
A domain account domain\wss3Svc is running the application pool and database authentication is set to
Windows authentication.
I also have a ordinary asp.net web site using an application pool running as NETWORK SERVICE.
This web site tries to connect to localhost:96 using new SPSite("localhost:96")
The only way that I have got this to work is by adding NETWORK SEVICE as a administrator of the farm. (Central Admin>Operations>Update Farm Administrators Group.)
Do you have any other suggestions

Word Document Printing from Sharepoint Services 3.0 Hi! I asked this over in the MSDN new groups... I figured, since this seems to be a different area, I would ask it here, too. It's about Sharepoint 3.0.
We are using it for project management and tracking. My manager would like
to be able to open a project, hit the print button and print the project
data (webparts), along with any Word document attached to said project.
I searched, and found nothing on the Word document, but have found a bit on printing Webparts. There was a blog I found here with PrintList, that allows for the printing of the webparts, but I am just not knowledgeable with SP to know what to do next. Any thoughts

Request.Params["TaskList"] - workflow association form Hi! Workflow assiciation has two steps:
1. general WSS form "Add a Workflow", where is combo box by which user tells what "task list" would like to use.
2. When user click on the next button, custom association form created by developer is displayed. When WSS is processing that "association form", they pass the parameter: Request.Params["TaskList"]. The parameter contains the Guid of the task list, user would like to use. If user selected "new task" list in the previovs form, the value of that parameter "TaskList" will be " zasd Tasks".
My question is:
1. Is the value " zasd Tasks" used for all language versions
2. Does exists some constant or enum for " zasd Tasks" value
In the "collect feedback" sample, developer used following condition:

Active Directory changes not changing in MOSS 2007 I have been making changes to existing users in Active Directory who have already been imported into Sharepoint. The problem is when I make the changes in active directory such as changing a users "direct report", this change does not change in the my sites "Organizational Heirachy" portion in sharepoint. I have tried deleting that users profile completly from sharepoint and reimporting it in but the old changes still show up. Our domain controller is Windows 2000. People Search Core Results I would like to place a web part on the first page of each department that lists all of the members in the department. I can do this manually by doing a people search and then entering "Sales" or "Marketing" and get the appropriate list back.
How can I embed "Sales" in a page and have the same results display
For example, when I navigate to the Sales page, I would just like the People Search Core Results to show up where the Query="Sales".

Opening checked-out file in excel 2003, save and close excel, doesn't prompt to check in. Hi All,
I encounter inconsistency in behaviour of opening and closing document in office 2003. I already configure the document library to enable versioning (only major) and document must be checked-out before editing, with content type enabled.
Here is the step:
1. Click new to open new document template in excel 2003.
2. Edit the document and save in excel 2003.
3. Excel prompt form to enter information related to content type.
4. Close the excel file (Alt+F4, or file > exit).
5. In some document library, it prompts user whether to check in the file or discard checkout, etc. But in another document library (same site), it doesn't prompt the user at all. The excel file is simply closed with document still checked out.
Is it possible in step 5 to ensure that excel prompts user to check in the document Is there any configuration needed
Regarding step no. 3, which excel displays form to enter information related to content type, does anyone know why title column is not displayed in the form Title column is a default column in most content type, and it's not a required field, but user might want to enter some information to it. If I upload the form, the title column appears in the form after uploading the file. Change destination where DB's are created I want to change where the sharepoint site DBs are created. They are currently, both the .MDF and the .LDF, are created on the D: drive; which is almost full.
I want the .MDF to go to H: and the .LDF to go to I:
I need all future sites created to go to the I(.LDF) and the H(.MDF)

Adding lookup fields to document library once and show fields on edit form twice Hi all.
I have a document library definition generated with SharePoint Solution Generator.
The original library had some lookup fields from other lists. When I generated the definition, those fields were commented in the schema.xml as expected.
I added some code to create those fileds using the AddFieldAsXml method.
When I add those fields in the OnActivated method, I get no exception but when I add a file to the document library and edit the file properties, the form shows me each field that I added twice.
The document library edit screen only sohw the fields once.
I reviewed the code to garantee that the fields were only created once.
Any ideas

Hide Created and Modified By I'm trying to find a way to hide the Created By and Modified By user links that show up by default at the bottom of list items on dispform.aspx and editform.aspx. This was relatively simple to do in 2003, but I'm having a hard time finding a way in 2007. Column Creation but only Full Control users can see the contents? In my testing environment, I have test_reader, test_contributor and test_full setup for me to sign in with and verify access.
One thing that I'm having trouble with is that in a document library I've created a column and added column data to each of the documents I have in there. However, only my full user (and when I'm signed in as myself) can see the DATA. The custom column is there, but not the data.

Business Process description I'm looking to use our WSS3.0 server for publishing the Business Manual of the company, internally.
I'd like to present it as graphical overview/diagrams that the user can drill down into, eventually ending up with a list of process descriptions, linked procedures as well as templates.
I first thought of using Visio for generating the overviews and diagrams, but soon discovered that the drill down was going to cause problems, essentially making me have to create bitmaps and clickable areas and whatnot (sheesh). And the key is that it should be easy to maintain.
Unable to find anything available (either free or at a price), I've taken a few stabs at it myself, but the effort that has to be put into creating a quality solution simply isn't worth it in terms of $$ - there has to be something out there that can do this
Not Business Process Management or Workflow Management - just the basic description thingy where I can create the different building blocks, assign some attribtes to them and represent them in a linkable manner.

1.How to restrict the access of site collections to some users of my Company domain.As per now i have enabled integrated authentication, so everybody on my company domain can loggin using his valid credentials.

Connections between Web Parts With SharePoint Designer and SWW 3.0 I was able to
1. With Designer, I can take all the entry form a single column and put them in a dropdown list of another webpart and then select one and it will show only the row(s) of the selected elements.
2. With the HTML Editor form Edit Page create a text box and a sumbit button to enter a value and it would again return me differents row of the colum I selected durin the create connexion setup.
So I wasen't able to do more. So I need Visual Studio and create a WebPart. Isent there any way to acess to the value of the differents rows with xpath Like you can acess to the differents value of a single row with @name, but I can't do @rows, right something like that
Oh and also saw that with MOSS, you have what its called Business Data Catalog, that seem to have some WebParts useful to filter your list. External authentication to Sharepoint site External users accessing our Sharepoint 2003 site are prompted for logon details several times before gaining access. We have basic authentication setup in IIS on the website so I expect them to be prompted once and this is what we want. I don't understand, though, why the multiple logon requests are received. If you have an assembly with an event receiver/event handlers it HAS TO GO TO GAC - by design... like it or not....
