- looping to drop temp tables Hello, I have a query that's in development that uses several temp tables. In order to test the query repeatedly while it's being written I have the following code at the beginning to discard the temp tables. This allows the query can recreate the temp tables when called in the code. if object_id('tempdb..#temp1') is not null drop table #temp1 if object_id('tempdb..#temp2') is not null drop table #temp2 if object_id('tempdb..#temp3') is not null drop table #temp3 if object_id('tempdb..#temp4') is not null drop table #temp4 if object_id('tempdb..#temp5') is not null drop table #temp5 Even though this works, it takes multiple lines of code. One of my queries has to drop 12 temp tables, thus 12 lines of code. I have been experimenting with looping the above as follows: declare @n as nvarchar(3), @table as nvarchar(10) set @n = 1 while @n <= 5 begin set @table = '#temp'+@n if object_id('tempdb..#temp'+@n) is not null drop table @table set @n = @n + 1 end Unfortunately, the above does not work. It gives this error message: Server: Msg 170, Level 15, State 1, Line 5 Line 5: Incorrect syntax near '@table'. - rsExecutionNotFound ! I have been frequetly visiting your blogs with a solution for rsExecutionNotFound. I used johngaallard's script to extend the accesstimeout(to 6000 ) eventhough that was not the base of the problem. My Reports run in less than 15 sec (max). I have enabled caching for about 12 hours ( there are nightly updates) using [Cache a temporary copy of the report. Expire copy of report after a number of minutes option]) The reports are rendered using a ReportViewerControl in an ASP.Net2.0 web application.(The report is rendered as PDF and then shown in another IFrame using Adobe plugin).The ASP application session timeout is 100mts. The problem i am facing is that after sometime, the rsExecutionNotfound starts occuring for some report with a specific set of parameters. No amount of rerunning the report will stop. The same report with different parameters renders fine. The only way to stop this is to set the cache option 'Do not cache temporary copies of this report'. If i set ''Do not cache temporary copies of this report'' there are no errors. I am doing caching mainly to bring down report rendering from 15 sec to 2-3 secs. I am using PDF format . I am now thinking of working around by trying to catch the Exception that occurs and trying to re-render the report. If this is the only way, how can i do it. - SQL 2000 Database upgrade to 2005 Dear All.. I have a few databases running a sql2000 and the time as come to move them onto sql2005. Which would be the best route to take. If I can think back to older version it was just a simply job of doing a backup in it's current version then restore in the new version and upgrade was taken while restoring.. - Proactive caching notification error I have defined a partition to use proactive caching with a polling query notification. The polling query simply returns the maximum value of a timestamp column from the measure group transaction table. The query parses and runs from the create polling query dialogue box. Have set this to run every 30 seconds. When this is deployed runs the trace on Analysis Services returns this error : OLE DB error: OLE DB or ODBC error: Invalid object name 'fcsUltForecasts'.; 42S02. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/225256 this article suggests can be caused by non dbo owned tables. - Connecting to SQL Express after Unattended Install Good afternoon, I have written a .NET app that kicks off an unattended install of SQL Server Express Advanced. After the install, the same app tries to connect to SQL Express adn run a script that creates a database plus a few other things. However, the problem I am having is that my app cannot connect. I get the error: "An error has occurrred while establishing a connection to the server. This failure may be casued by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections." However, the unattended install goes great. No problems there. I know this because I can Open SSMS, run queries, created DB's, etc. I also know that it is not the remote connections issue because the unattended install is set to allow remote connections (both names pipes and TCP/IP). So, why can't i connect I don't need to reboot after the install do I Please tell me i don't...and please tell me it is something simple I am overlooking. Thanks... Tag: foodmart database?

- SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver v1.1 and SSL Hi folks, I'm trying to figure out if the SQL Server 2005 JDBC driver supports SSL at all. I've downloaded the driver documentation, looked at more web pages than I care to count, and even went as far as to take a stab at guessing at different driver property names in the hopes I might discover some undocumented feature. Each time I try, I come up dry. The following exception shows up in my JBoss log: 2007-01-03 12:13:36,812 WARN [org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.JBossManagedConnectionPool] Throwable while attempting to get a new connection: null org.jboss.resource.JBossResourceException: Could not create connection; - nested throwable: (com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The SQL Server login requires an SSL connection.) I know I have things working properly on the SQL Server side, as both osql and Query Analyzer work fine, and packet sniffing yields no plain text information. I've also tried swapping in the open source JTDS driver, and once again, sniffing shows that the data between the two machines in encrypted. Does anyone know if I'm just missing something completely obvious, or can someone state with absolute certainty that the driver does not support SSL Any ideas on how to find out if there are plans to support this feature and what the timeline might be Thanks in advance. When I tried to compact it, it took very long and that JOB.sdf.tmp was created with 27.7M!!!, I can still open table in the database, but I found that there is some invalid data (unreadable square boxes). At this point in time, I have suceeded in created one that creates delimited files. However, I am now trying to create fixed-width files as you can do with the SSIS designer, but programatically. Is there a way to programatically determine the width of a column from the source table I can not seem to find any kind of function or member that stores this information or allows me to retrieve it. - date picker format hi all, i've just updated my sql server 2005 with sp1 and sp2. i want my report date format to change according to regional setting, therefore i've set the report property for language as User.Language. how do i set the report parameter of type datetime to follow the format of regional setting my date parameter has default value which i query from a table. for e.g. if my regional setting is UK and the default date is 9/7/2006, the date picker will display date at 7 september 2006 instead. please help.... thanks! - Old problem, but... Cannot open user default database. Login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'. I didn't use SQL Express before, now I am trying to use it. I thinkk it is convinient if you just want to copy db files to user's machine. like this <add name="schsecurity" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=true;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf" /> as long as user has sql express installed, he should be able to use the db once he copy the file aspnetdb.mdf over. but when I tried it, I got Cannot open user default database. Login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'. it looks simple, SQL express can not verify user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE' so I connect SQL express with SQL server management studio, and add the user into login of the SQL express and set the user as sysadmin. - Results from Aggregate() are wrong The aggregate "Bad Agg" in the query below is causing no results to be returned. Notice that there are two members in the set of "Bad Agg". If I remove one or the other from the set (and create a set of just one member) then I get valid results. Does anybody know what might be happening We are on the latest SP (9.00.3042). - Inconsistent Linked Server Query Results Hello, I have a linked server named 'Charlie_File' to an Excel Workbook that I set up in SQLServer 2005 Management Studio. The workbook is on my local C drive. Sometimes, I get the results back that I expect when I run the following query; SELECT * FROM OPENQUERY ( Charlie_file , 'SELECT * FROM [Feb$]' ) Sometimes, on subsequent runs of the above query, I get the following message; Msg 7399, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "Charlie_file" reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error. Msg 7303, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "Charlie_file". There seems to be about a minute or so of a delay before the query will run correctly on subsequent attempts. - Can't get Dynamic Security working ... I'm trying to get dynamic security working using a member property which contains a list of usernames that are allowed to access that level of the hierarchy. I'm using the following setup: Dimension: DynManager Hierarchy: DynManager Levels (in order): SVP, DVP, RVP, ROM, DDO, Store Attributes: SVP -> SVP Access List, DVP -> DVP Access List, RVP -> RVP Access List, ... etc When I run the following test query, I get the set back that I expect: SELECT FILTER([DynManager].[DDO].Members, INSTR([DynManager].CurrentMember.Properties("DDO Access List"), "JJester")) ON 0 FROM BiCube However, when I attempt to use the same FILTER expression in the role's "Allowed Member Set" expression, I get the following error message: An error occurred in the MDX script for the dimension attribute permission's allowed member set: Query (1, 56) The 'DynManager' dimension contains more than one hierarchy, therefore the hierarchy must be explicitly specified. The DynManager dimension only has one hierarchy, so I don't understand where the error is coming from. However, I did what it says and changed my query to the following: FILTER([DynManager].[DDO].Members, INSTR([DynManager].[DynManager].CurrentMember.Properties("DDO Access List"), "JJester")) The syntax checks out but when I go to browse the cube as this dynamic role, I get the following error message: The DynManager hierarchy is used more than once in the Crossjoin function Can anyone please provide some insight! Foodmart 2000 sample database shipped with AS 2000.
AS2005 comes with AventureWorks sample database.
If you would like to get FoodMart 2000 with AS2005, you can install AS2000 and run migration wizard to migrate FoodMart 2000 to AS2005.

Can I get the database as mdf file (like AdventureWorksDW)
